Do you remember the show "thirtysomething?" If you're of a particular age, I'm certain you do.
Today I came across a "throw back" marathon of this show and I was absolutely transported back in time.
I wasn't exactly "thirtysomething" when it was on the air (I was in my mid twenties) but I was married with a new baby so I completely related to the characters....I absolutely loved this show.
I can vividly remember where I sat to watch it and with whom I watched it...(mind you, I NEVER EVER sit down .... I stand/walk thru the house from the time I wake up until I lie down in bed...no kidding---but once upon a time, I actually sat down to watch this series).
Oh, just the theme music alone sent me back in time. I watched it today and literally cried with nostalgic feelings.
If you were a fan, then you'll understand the following:
*I SO wanted to live like Hope and Michael---(at the time, I lived in a brand new home but found myself feeling jealous of their old "fixer-upper" home with spackle on the walls and exposed pipes)
*I wanted Hope's blue night shirt (with the white stars)
*I wanted Nancy's perfect "bob" haircut
*I despised Elliot for having an affair
*I sobbed when Nancy was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer
*I grieved deeply when Gary died
SO crazy that a TV show can have such a profound effect.
If you were a fan, PLEASE share your feelings/memories with me!!
